Back to School and New Activities!

It's been a while! It has been a little crazy around here as we've gotten back to school and started up with lots of new things!

At the very end of July our family got to take a fun trip down to Utah for Mandy Schmidt's wedding weekend! My mom and Jesse flew out as well and we had fun riding the Heber Valley train, swimming at the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird (where the wedding was), and attending all of the wedding festivities. Kamrie and Stacey were nice enough to come up there and babysit our kids at the hotel so we didn't have to go to the actual wedding and reception with them. I am sure they much preferred to go swimming with Stacey and Kamrie at the pool anyways!

In August, the boys finished up with their last soccer games through their rec department teams and Avery finished up her summer dance at Fuzion through the rec department and her gymnastics at Madison gymnastics center. We went hiking, camping, and swimming A LOT! Trying to squeeze in the last little bits of Summer fun! Avery also had a mildly intense attachment to the Rexburg carousel (and the cotton candy) and we seriously rode it every day in August I think. Now it it closed for the season and she is going through withdrawals...

At the end of August I got to take a little girls' trip down to Utah again with my two good friends, Sam and Brittaini. We basically just go down there to shop and eat good food. lol Stacey and Kamrie also came up to our hotel on Friday night and hung out for a bit and ate at Culvers with us! P.S. I am so edited. Idaho Falls is finally getting a Culvers. I knew this day would come someday. Let's all take a moment of silence to appreciate this…….
Okay. Moving on.

Now that fall is here, the kids each had to pick one thing (well two if you count scouts for the boys). So in the Summer the boys both did Soccer through the rec department. They both enjoy soccer, but ultimately I do feel that Caleb has more of the body of a football player. haha Gabe, however, has decided to give middle school soccer a try and has just started that up. He had a brief attempt at playing goalie in the first game. I must say it did not go so well. Then when they moved him to forward the other team did not even get the chance to take the ball onto our half of the field near our goalie for the second half of the game. He scored the only goal for our team (the other team was good… lol).

Caleb has started up flag football (which is all his age group can play) and has been assigned to the "Patriots" this year. They totally creamed the other teams in both of their first games. Caleb had a couple of interceptions and a touchdown. If he can just get running more and pick up his speed… he may make us some money on Sundays someday… ;) LOL

Avery is taking her second attempt at dance class this fall. I started her last fall but she really just was not ready. She didn't want to leave my side half the time. But yesterday was her first day and she participated the whole time! She seemed to be enjoying herself. So hopefully that keeps up!

Gabe and Caleb have both started school (Gabe is in 5th and Caleb in 3rd) and Avery starts one of her preschools on Monday. Gabe is at the middle school this year, which did cause me major anxiety, but it seems to be smooth sailing now. The first couple days were a little rough… but I think we are good now. He loves art and science class and has one of his neighborhood friends in his homeroom class.

Caleb has the world's best teacher this year - Mrs. Burt. Gabe had her for 3rd grade and she is seriously the sweetest lady you will ever meet. I am not worried about him at all. Which is good because it gave me the time to focus on worrying all about Gabe. lol Caleb really is a bright kid… his battle is with his own um… lack of ambition… lol Hopefully he can just get out of his own way and do some good work! ;)

Avery will go to Burton (the elementary school) for MWF mornings and then to BYUI preschool on TT. So she will be in school every day from 8:20 to 10:30. It will give me a nice break to work on some Etsy orders. :)

I am sure there is so much I am missing but that's all I can think of for now! Here are tons of pictures!
