Pinecones

Happy LATE Halloween! I have a funny story to share real quick. After trick or treating Gabe was sorting through his loot and starts asking frantically,"Where's my pinecone?"
Me: "What? Someone gave you a pinecone?"
Gabe: "Yeah and I put it in the stroller!" (we took Caleb in the stroller)
Me: "Well, Josh will you go look in the stroller basket for some pinecone?"
Josh: "I'm not going outside to look for a pinecone." (<-- True dad comment)
Me: "Come on! He's desperate! What could it be?"
Finally I call my sister and ask if her daughter knows what this "pinecone," which Gabe described as also being orange and yellow, could be. She finally suggests "candy corn?"
Me: "Gabe, do you mean candy corn? Like I had in the candy dish before?"
Gabe: "Yeah!!! Pinecone!!!"
Me: "Well... okay... there's none here in your bag. Maybe if you ask dad real nice he'll go get some at the store."
Surprisingly, after Gabe says please, Josh DOES agree to go! I'm like, "Really?"
Josh: "Yeah... you know why?"
Me: "Cause he said please?"
Josh: "No... cause I saw that little bag of candy corn in the bottom of the stroller and I thought you were saving it for me down there and I ate it all."
Luckily, the store was still open and they came home with a new bag of candy corn. :)
